The 4th International Conference on Sustainable Development in Building And Environment (SuDBE 2009) Time: October 28-30, 2009 Location: Chongqing,China Participants: more than 200 people


On October 28, 2011, The 4th International Conference on Sustainable Development in Building And Environment (SuDBE 2009) was grandly held in Chongqing. The conference was hosted by Faculty of Urban Construction and Enviromental Engineering of Chongqing University, co-organized by University of Cambridge, University of Reading, University of Purdue, University of Aalborg, Tsinghua University, Hong Kong university, International Sustainable Building Environment Association and Korea Health Building Association. The conference was strongly supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China, China Green Building Council, the Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Chongqing Municipal Committee of Urban and Rural Development and British Consulate General in Chongqing, and received the support of the National Natural Science Foundation project "Theories and Methods for Dynamic Regulation and Control of Building Thermal Environment". Nearly 200 experts and scholars from more than ten countries and regions including the United Kingdom, the United States, Denmark, France, Estonia, Botswana, Malawi, Jamaica, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and the Mainland of China (including more than 50 foreign experts and scholars) participated this meeting, including fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering, "Building and Environment", "Indoor & Built Environment" and "Building Simulation" and other internationally renowned journal editors. The conference included nearly 200 academic papers, some of which have been recommended for publication in SCI search journals.

 

The main content of this conference is related to the hot issues related to the sustainable development of architecture and environment, including indoor environment, green building and urban ecological environment. In the keynote speech session, more than a dozen well-known professors and experts at home and abroad made the theme of “Green Building”, “Using Systematic Thinking to Learn and Inherit Sustainable Building Environment”, “Energy-efficient Ventilation in High-rise Buildings”, "zero energy buildings—a new concept of sustainable development in the construction sector" and other reports.


In the following sub-conferences, nearly 100 well-known professors, experts and scholars from home and abroad had a heated discussion on the three topics of the conference. Through the exchange of meetings, experts and scholars in various fields have reached a consensus on the frontier knowledge theory system in this field, and put forward the prospects in this field. This meeting will play a positive role in promoting the implementation of “the Habitat Agenda” and “Agenda 21” tasks, and will certainly enhance exchanges and cooperation between countries in the world of sustainable development. It will also have a positive impact on China's ongoing sustainable development strategy.
